Meet One of the Most Powerful African Women Impacting the World

Okwu m: Her Excellency Chief One Dibia Ochuaja, Dr. Uwa Onyioha Osimiri

Blafrokan exclusive interview with Her Excellency, Chief, Dr. Uwa Onyioha Osimiri is the Founder and President of the African Women Mobilization Commission a non-profit organization mobilizing women to become leaders through training, conferencing, and global engagement. Dr. Osimiri is the Spiritual Leader of Chiism International and holds 6 Nigerian Chieftaincy titles.

I had the honor and pleasure of sitting down with Her Excellency, Chief Dr. Uwa Onyioha Osimiri, the Founder and President of African Women Mobilization Commission (AWMC). This non-profit and NGO is taking the world by storm, clearing the path for African women to stand fully upright, chin up, chest out, to step into their power, and seize the courage to heal and develop themselves for self actualization. In doing so, the membership boasts seasoned and emerging leaders who are improving the lives of their families, communities and nations, to return to the greatness and glory African women seek wherever they find themselves.

Dr. Osimiri elaborates in extensive detail how her life’s experiences shaped the person she has become, from growing up in Nigeria, surviving trauma as a victim of the Nigerian Civil War, immigrating to the United States, and pursuing two doctorates, having a family, running businesses and starting AWMC. She shares inspiring stories of how she continues to face challenges head on, and overcome obstacles with agility and grace to accomplish her mission.

Since day one AWMC has been on the move to make an indelible impact in the world, beginning with educational workshops to train and improve women’s life skills to build the lives envision.

The first major project was working to assist the Internally Displaced Persons (DPS) by initiating the AWMC Feeding Program in Madguri, Borno State Nigeria for those directly affected by the terrorists acts of Boko Haram.

Shortly thereafter AWMC started a Child Sponsorship Program to personally raise children out of poverty, insuring their food security, tuition for education, and their medical and social needs are being supported for wholistic wellbeing.

This relatively small yet ever expanding non-profit is making an enormous impact after partnering with POPs Solutions and Google to offer 500 tech scholarships to educate the worlds future leaders in software engineering!

As the Secretary Board Member, I’m excited to be part of this superb organization and anticipate what our determined, visionary leader, Dr. Uwa Onyioaha Osimiri has in store for us to actualize next!
